Sub Rosa
/sub ˈrō-zə/
Latin. Beneath the rose.
In the ancient world, a rose hung above the table meant what was spoken there would not leave the room. It was the mark of the inner chamber, a vow of sacred secrecy. It served as the sign that what was about to be transmitted was not for public consumption, but for the soul.
This is that kind of space.
For the man who has been listening:
You have felt it for a while now.
Something in you is asking to be met that cannot be reached through the mind, reading more books or taking another course. And it’s certainly not through strategies and frameworks or self improvement architectures you’ve already tested and outgrown.
There is a longing beneath the longing, a grief that has no name. A tenderness you haven’t been given permission to feel. A part of you that senses the next passage of your becoming lives somewhere your intellect cannot take you.
You’re hungry for initiation and you desire to be changed from the inside out. But you don’t know how or where to do this.
What This Is
Sub Rosa is a private, 1:1 journey through the Magdalene Mysteries. A six month passage through embodiment, somatics, ritual, ceremony, and the mystic wisdom of the feminine half of Yeshua's desert teachings, the half that was buried, silenced, and left out of the story we were handed (leaving us in this quagmire of the toxic capitalist patriarchy that serves no one, including men.)
This is the lineage of sacred union and the bridal chamber. It’s a journey of the soul that descends into its own depths and returns, whole, to itself.
Held in the depths of sub rosa, beneath the rose, what is transmitted here is yours to bring into your life, work and relationships.
It’s for the man you are actually here to become.
Why Men? Why Now?
Men are being asked more of than most have been prepared to give. The old maps are gone. The rites of passage that once carried a boy into manhood have almost entirely vanished. The elders who used to hold the transmission have been scattered, silenced, or lost to a culture that stopped honoring their role. Most men have been left to figure it out alone, without mentorship, without wisdom passed down, without a container to be met inside of.
So many have done what they could, from building a career, reading the books, hiring a therapist. They’ve done what they could to be better partners, fathers. Good men. And still, something is missing.
Because the feminine, inside of them and around them, has been in exile for so long that most men don’t even know what they;re missing. They only feel the ache, disconnection and loneliness beneath it all. The strange grief of being surrounded by people and still unable to feel truly met, witnessed, seen, felt.
This work is a Remembering — of the feminine that was removed from the story. From the teachings. From the inner life of a man. She was cast out, and in her exile, something in the masculine went dark too.
The way home is a merging.
A man who begins to integrate the feminine within himself becomes able, at last, to meet the feminine outside of himself. His inner work becomes his relational work. His relational work becomes his inner work. The two are one movement.
This is internal. And it is deeply, deeply relational.
There is a whole lineage of sacred masculine that has been waiting for a way home, to become a whole human. Merged. Harmonized. Unified with the very part of himself he was told to cast out.
The men I’ve sat with are hungry for the parts of themselves that have never been witnessed. They, like the women I work with, long for a way to meet their grief, their tenderness and their longing.
Many women have spaces for this. Unfortunately, most men don’t.
The Magdalene carries teachings that were never meant to be gendered. But they were entrusted to a woman because a woman knew how to receive them. She was the one Yeshua taught in the inner chamber. She was the first witness of the resurrection because she was the one who didn’t run from the dark.
These teachings are for you and they must be transmitted through the feminine, because the feminine is the ground they were grown in.
Why a Man Must Learn This from a Woman
The wound between the masculine and feminine cannot be healed by the masculine alone.
It cannot be studied out of a book. It cannot be reasoned into resolution. It cannot be bypassed through more personal development.
It must be met in the relational field, in the presence of a woman who has gone through her own descent and can hold the threshold without collapse.
A man who is initiated into the Magdalene's teachings by a woman is receiving something his mother, his sister, his beloved, and his own inner feminine have all been waiting for him to arrive at.
He learns to receive (without needing to fix.)
He learns to be witnessed (without shying away from vulnerability.)
He learns to be held by the sacred feminine (as a living transmission, one not to be grasped and clung to.)
And in that receiving, he returns to himself, in his fullness.
What We’ll Move Through
Over the course of our six months together, we will move through the terrain of the mysteries, at the pace your soul asks for. This is a rite of passage.
The Descent | Meeting the sacred dark. Learning to stay in the not knowing. Releasing the compulsion to always KNOW, to approach from the mind, to be prepared ahead of the moment.
The Devotion | The teachings of the alabaster jar. Devotion as completed desire. Learning to pour yourself out at the feet of what is holy.
The Body as Altar | Returning to the flesh as sacred ground. Somatic practices for a masculine that has forgotten how to simply BE.
The Bridal Chamber | The mystical teaching of hieros gamos, sacred marriage. The union of the inner masculine and feminine within your own being.
The Gnosis | Direct inner knowing. Learning to trust the voice of your own soul over every external authority you were taught to obey.
The Return | Integration. What it means to walk in the world as a man who has been anointed. Who has met the feminine and been changed by her, within himself.
Two private sessions per month. 90 minutes each.

We meet twice a month for ninety minutes over the course of six months. Between sessions, you have voice and text access to me for real time integration, moments of clarity, or the questions that surface when you are alone with the work.
Between our meetings, you’ll receive sacred practices, embodiment invitations, readings from ancient texts, and personal assignments shaped to what your soul is asking for at that stage of the passage. Nothing is off the shelf. Everything is built for you.
-
Perfect. You don’t need any prior experience. I guide you through the practices step by step so your body, mind, and nervous system have room to adjust at a pace that feels doable.
-
Sub Rosa is a passage, not a curriculum. That said, here is what you can expect to be moving through.
Somatic practices designed to bring you back into your body, into your feeling, into the intelligence of your own flesh. Ceremonial rituals rooted in the Magdalene lineage, including anointing, altar work, and threshold crossings. Study of the mystical texts, including the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, the Gospel of Philip, and the wisdom of the desert teachings that the early church buried. Deep inquiry into your inner masculine and feminine, and the work of integrating them into wholeness. Real conversation about your life, your relationships, your work, and what is asking to be met.
We move at the pace your soul asks for. Some months will be inward and slow. Others will move quickly. You are not being pushed through a program. You are being walked through a passage.
-
The formal container is about three hours of live time per month.
The practices between sessions are designed to fit inside a real life. You can expect to spend somewhere between 1-2 hours per week on embodiment practices, reading, journaling, or the ritual work I assign. Some weeks it will be less. Some weeks, when something big is moving, it will be more.
The container does not live inside the hours you spend on it. It lives inside how you begin to move through your days. Your relationships, your work, your solitude, all of it becomes the field the work moves through. In that sense, you are always in the passage.
-
Coaching helps you achieve what you already know you want. It works with goals, strategies, accountability, and the architecture of your outer life.
This is not that.
Sub Rosa works with what your SOUL is asking for beneath the goals. It is initiatory. It’s not helping you become a better version of the man you already know how to be. It’s helping you meet the man who has been waiting underneath.
That said, my somatic coaching training and years of 1:1 and group work are absolutely present in the container. I am not a mystic in a tower. I am a practitioner. What I offer is grounded, embodied, and applicable to your real life. The mystical and the practical are woven together.
-
I am not a therapist and this is not therapy.
Therapy helps you understand and move through what has shaped you. It works with the mind, the story, the patterns, and often the wounds of the past.
Sub Rosa works with the soul, the sacred. It works with the parts of you that are simply asking to be remembered.
If you are in active crisis, in the middle of untreated trauma, or in need of clinical mental health support, this is not the container for you right now. I will tell you that in our first conversation, honestly and with care. Some men benefit from doing this work alongside their existing therapeutic support. Others come to this after that foundational work is already in place.
-
Simply, no.
The Magdalene lineage is a mystical stream that predates and moves beneath institutional Christianity. It is closer to the desert traditions, to gnosis, to the ancient wisdom of the sacred feminine that lived long before any church was built.
Men of every background, faith, and none at all have found their way into this work. What matters is not what you believe. What matters is whether the longing is real.
-
No, but you need to be open and willing.
You don’t need experience. You need honesty, curiosity, and the willingness to be met in places you have not been met before. I will guide you through everything. The practices are built for beginners and initiates alike.
-
No, no, and no.
This work is for men of every orientation, every relationship configuration, and every stage of life. The masculine and feminine we are working with are not gendered in that way. They are principles, energies, ways of being that live inside every human being.
What matters is that you identify as a man and are ready to meet the sacred feminine within yourself.
-
Life gets busy. If something arises that requires you to pause, we will hold the container open for you and pick the thread back up when you’re ready. This is not a rigid program. It is a sacred passage. It moves at the pace your life allows.
-
Absolutely. Sub Rosa means beneath the rose. What is spoken in the container stays in the container. This is a vow I hold with reverence. What you share with me is sacred, and I treat it that way.
-
We begin with a conversation. No pressure or sales pitch. Just space to feel whether this is the doorway your soul has been waiting to walk through and if I sense into a mutual fit.
You reach out. We set a time. We meet. We listen. If it is a yes for both of us, we begin.
